When calling any Canadian or U.S. phone number (including other Canadian and U.S. cell phones in Mexico) simply dial 001-area code-number. Before you go, please check with your cell phone provider about coverage and roaming fees for calls originating in Mexico. A less expensive method of calling home, will likely be purchasing a Prepaid Calling Card in Mexico, and then using one of the street pay telephones in Mexico. |

Mexican Medical Ministries requires of everyone participating in Mexico on their Teams, or coming as an individual, that they provide them with proof of health insurance coverage that is valid in Mexico. While you may choose any traveler's health insurance policy you want, Mexican Medical Ministries currently recommends and uses Seven Corners offered by Good Neighbor Insurance.

In most places that you will go in Mexico, US Dollars are commonly accepted, but Canadian Dollars are not. In fact most places do not even accept American Express Travelers Cheques. So it is best to bring some US Dollars with you. There are ATM machines in most places, and you can obtain Mexican Pesos that way; so you really do not need to carry a lot of money with you. (Check with your bank before you leave home as to your daily ATM limits.) For current exchange rates, click here.
