If you are driving your own vehicle, (or a rental vehicle without ‘Mexican’ auto insurance), then you must purchase ‘Mexican’ auto insurance! Insurance from a Mexican company is required by Mexican law in the event of an accident, even if you are not at fault. And you’ll want the ‘Legal Cost’ provision included in your policy.
