« Our Monthly Support Needs: This subject is always difficult to talk about. But without monthly support, the ministries we’re involved in might not happen...

Our increasing ministry involve-ments over the years have meant our financial needs have also grown. In addition the prices XXX everything here in Mexico has been rising…

Previously we mentioned there had been a drop in our personal monthly financial support, as a result of some of our regular supporters retiring and no longer having the same ability to support us as they were able to do when they were working. We also mentioned that one had his retirement plan go bankrupt, and three other supporters had passed away... We asked our friends to pray for each of these people, their families and their situations; and we want to thank you for your prayers! As a result our monthly support has gone up, for which we are very thankful! However, it did not go back up to where it was, or to where it really needs to be. And the current global recession has affected us as well —therefore we still do have needs.

If you’re able to join our support team or if you are able to raise your support at this time, we would be very grateful!

« Bibles & New Testaments: We do have a good source for buying many of these items at discounted prices, but we often just need the funds to cover the expenses… For example we buy a case of 24 Bibles for $54-$75, (depending on the translation), and a case of 50 New Testaments for less than $50... So if you are able to send us a donation for Bibles & New Testaments we would be grateful!

« Used ‘Spanish’ Christian Books: Most people here can’t afford new Christian books... If you have any used Christian books in Spanish, in good condition, please send them to the Mexican Medical Ministries office, ‘attention: Don & Lorraine’, and we will be sure they get given out to ‘hungry’ new Christians here in Loreto...

« Christian Book Store in Loreto: We have a man who would love to help us start a Christian Book store in Loreto — he has a very large trailer full of new Christian books… But it would take a few committed people, as well as some funds to pay or subsidize the rent of a store front. Local people to operate such a business will be no problem to find — we know several people who would love to do this… The next step is to find funding for the first year’s rent, and subsidization funding following… And then we would need an almost endless supply of used Christian books in Spanish, in good condition...

« Other Projects: We’d love to do more ministry - here are some ideas...

We’ve started Home Bible studies in a couple of churches; and we’d like to train many more churches in Cell Ministries...

We’ve used the Alpha Course* and the ‘40 Days of Purpose’ program* in a couple of churches, and we would love to help more churches use these programs in a supplemental way, to help people study the Bible more...

We’d love to bring special Bible/ Seminary Teachers to Loreto, to help with the training of our local Pastors — most who have never been to Bible school or seminary, and would really benefit from such teaching...

« Gift Bags & supplies: At our Health Fairs we give special GIFT BAGS to each of the children... Each month we need wash cloths, medium size bars of soap, good tooth brushes, small tubes of tooth paste, dental floss, lip balm, small containers body lotion and shampoo, and combs… We also like it when we can put these things in a hand-made small cloth bag (with draw string) — and we have instructions on how to make these... If you can help us with any of these items, please let us know and then send them to the Mexican Medical Ministries office, ‘attention: Don & Lorraine’. (We also need for each of our Health Fairs, testing strips for blood/glucose testing — if you can help us purchase these, please let us know. We use about $200 of these supplies each month…)
